Esri introduces new geoanalytics and mapping tools for Microsoft Fabric

Esri announced the general availability of ArcGIS GeoAnalytics for Microsoft Fabric. In addition, ArcGIS Maps for Microsoft Fabric is now available in public preview — a mapping tool that makes it easy to enrich enterprise data in Microsoft OneLake with contextual information about business, lifestyle, demographics or the environment.

“This integration brings Esri’s core capabilities to data analytics professionals directly within Microsoft Fabric,” said Jack Dangermond, Esri president. “We’re excited to deepen our strategic collaboration with Microsoft, helping our shared customers uncover spatial insights and identify non‑obvious patterns.”

Demand for spatial analytics and mapping tools is growing among data scientists, data engineers, business analysts and executives. GeoAnalytics for Fabric enables organizations to use spatial tools efficiently while working with OneLake as well as Microsoft Power BI or ArcGIS. Users gain access to a powerful library of spatial data and analytical functions to analyze location, relationships, event significance and next actions.

“When processing large volumes of data in Microsoft Fabric, our scientists at the Met Office used ArcGIS GeoAnalytics for advanced geospatial analysis,” said Richard Lawrence, Chief Scientific Officer at the UK Met Office. “Thanks to the integration with Fabric, these complex analytical operations have become simpler and more accessible than ever before.”

ArcGIS Maps for Fabric, available in the Fabric Workload Hub, enables organizations to build and configure interactive maps directly within the familiar Microsoft Fabric interface. During the public preview, this tool helps visualize subtle patterns, relationships and trends that can be hard to spot in standard tables or charts.

“We’re excited to see a new phase in our collaboration with Esri — powerful geoanalytics tools and ArcGIS Maps are now available to our joint Microsoft Fabric users,” said Dipti Borkar, Vice President of Microsoft OneLake and Fabric Ecosystem. “Users can run robust GeoAnalytics in Apache Spark on Fabric, unlocking the full potential of geospatial analytics alongside their ArcGIS data in OneLake. And ArcGIS Maps for Fabric deepens the partner integration with Esri’s signature solutions.”

GeoAnalytics for Fabric is already available to all Microsoft users, as is ArcGIS for Power BI. The integration continues to expand: ArcGIS Maps for Fabric is currently in public preview, with general release expected soon. Read more in the “What’s New in ArcGIS for Microsoft Fabric” blog.
